What We Value Speaks Louder Than Anything We Say We Are Going To Do

"Values are like fingerprints. Nobody's are the same, but you leave them all over everything you do."

-- Elvis Presley

Whether with a CEO, executive team, or a person looking to lead their own life, I have found that what we truly value most is clearly expressed in our daily actions.

"Should do", "must do", "need to", and "have to" statements often reflect a feeling that correlates to social norms and meeting the expectations of others. This is seen inside of so many of our struggles. We all gravitate and expend energy on what we value, no matter what we say we are going to do.

The key is to leverage those activities and link them to our biggest goals. When we learn that what we love to do can lead us to what we want in our life - we will make time to do what we do not want to do - because we learn that it is a small price to pay in pursuit of realizing our dreams...
