Responding versus reacting to events, asking what else something might mean, seeking to find the good in a difficult situation requires discipline and deliberate intention. There is always another way to see something, and we have access to incredible lessons on a daily basis.

The greatest opportunity for growth often lies in our most trying challenges. Setbacks are our greatest teachers, disappointment is just a test of our desire, the word "no" only means "not yet", and loss leaves space for gain.

We must remember that gifts can come in all shapes and sizes, when least expected, and without wrapping paper and ribbon. Once you come to understand and appreciate the value of the gift, give it away. We don't get to keep the lesson unless we are able to teach it.
