Access Point: Take Action

"Action is like a breath of air. While your last one was important, it's not nearly as important as the next one."

- James McPartland

Access Point: Take Action | James McPartland's Blog

Bold thinking requires bold action – and a willingness to do what others won't do. There is no limit to how many times you can take action. You can go "all in" with energy as many times as you want, even if you have experienced a setback. Persistence is the quality to make any dream a reality.

It is better to risk disappointment by being "all in" and falling short of your goals than to be disappointed in yourself for never being truly "all in" and missing the opportunities of a lifetime.

Limitation is nothing more than a mentality that too many people practice daily until they come to believe it's a reality. Do not let an imperfect past hinder the glory of your inspiring future and do not let your fears grow stronger than your faith. Only those devoted enough to go to the edges of their highest limits will expand them.

You have to think BIG, even in small places.

Small daily actions, done consistently over time, lead to massive results.

But do not underestimate the amount of adversity that you must overcome in pursuit of your desired goals. You will need to push past innumerable and sometimes seemingly insurmountable obstacles on your path. Step forward. Know that the shadows of insecurity dissolve in the warm glow of persistency, as action adds fuel to the fire that resides in your soul.

Most people take the limits of their vision to be the limits of the world, and act accordingly. Resist the temptation to become part of that group.

As you face some of the breathtaking moments in your journey toward your most powerful pursuits, take some simple reminders with you:

  • When faced with a choice – choose the one that pushes you the most.

  • When you feel stuck – action will break you free from the chains of your fears.

  • The time you least feel like doing something – is often the very best time to do it.

  • Action is the antidote to average, and there is a whole lot of competition at the level of mediocrity.

Last, I think it would be helpful to share a quote I keep on the inside cover of my favorite journal:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you did not do than the things you did."

- Mark Twain

Dream Big. Start Small. Act Now.
