Are you unhappy?

If so, ask yourself this: Are you obsessing, planning or worrying about something you cannot possibly control? When we focus on things we have no power to change, we experience frustration, exasperation, and disappointment. It’s the fastest way to burnout.

A genius moment arrives when we come to the realization that we are trying to control the uncontrollable and the feeling of defeat that goes with it. When this happens, and we bring ourselves to stop and let go, we come to experience a level of freedom we have not known before.

As you ponder what it is that you’re trying to change, consider also who you’re trying to change. You may come to find the person most resistant to change is the one looking back at you in the mirror.

Instead of trying to change other people, let go of trying to control the uncontrollable and shift your focus to yourself. Watch how quickly a new space of creativity, energy, and aliveness will open up inside of you.
