Access Point: Closing the Gap

"The deciding factor in how we establish priorities, then execute those priorities, is the struggle between who we are and who we are becoming.”

Access Point: Closing the Gap | Blog post by James McPartland | Speaker, Author, Executive Coach

Our life is driven by the purpose we assign to it, and propelled by the priorities we connect to it. We become powerless when our purpose seems to lack an essential order of the non-negotiable action steps required to lead to its fulfillment. Practicing the art of saying “no" to every request that diverts us from our intentions is a lifelong pursuit. And since time is a non-renewable resource, we must protect it with a vengeance.

Closing the gap between where we are and where we want to be, requires us to become conscious of how our unconscious way of being has us repeatedly dragging the past into the future. When we become AWARE that we can choose and live into a future that we design, one that has us free of who we no longer want to be-- that’s when we really start present-moment-living.

Closing the gap between our current self and future self is a “to-each-their-own” kind of battle, friends. Yet from one sojourner to another, I encourage you to fight the good fight. The struggle is worth it, and so are you!
