Achieve Any Goal With This Master Formula

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step."

— James McPartland

The phrase “practice meets perfect” might be one we’ve all heard a thousand times before, but sometimes those common sayings hold truth to them.

While no amount of striving and effort will ever make us perfect human beings, I have a great appreciation for athletes, musicians, and entrepreneurs who’ve excelled at their craft and continue to set goals to achieve them by continuing practicing their craft.

When people talk about achieving their goals or objectives, they often get discouraged because they don’t know how to get to where they want to go.

Forget about the how, if our what, by when, and our why is clearly outlined, we will have the staying power and motivation to propel us forward.

Now, let’s take a closer look at what I describe to my clients as the P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E. method:

P - Process

  • Block out time in your calendar, routinely check your progress, pivot when needed.

R - Risk

  • Get clear on what you are willing to sacrifice to achieve this goal.

A - Associations

  • What positive outcomes can you link this goal to? Will you gain more confidence or earn more money? Will you be able to spend more time with family?

C - Communication

  • What are you listening to? How are you speaking to yourself or to others?

T - Think

  • Shift your mindset. What “I am” statements are holding you back?

I - Information

  • Look into books, classes, seminars, podcasts of others who have achieved something similar.

C - Consequences

  • Set deadlines along the way, celebrate when you meet them, and have a consequence set for when you don’t.

E - Enrollment

  • Bring others along for your journey and get feedback and accountability along the way

Now go out and practice and achieve the goals you’ve been dreaming about.
