Success Is Not By Chance

“Successful people form the habit of doing what failures don’t like to do. They like the results they get by doing what they don’t necessarily enjoy.”

– Earl Nightingale, Motivational Speaker

Earlier in my career I had this illusion that those who achieve great success somehow didn’t have to do the things that I was uninspired in doing. I thought they had found some magic formula that had them doing mostly fun stuff, working limited hours, and having advantages that others could only dream of.

In a way, I was quite happy to find out how wrong I was. As it turns out, those that lead High Performance lives do all the things that none of us really want to do. They, like most all of us, have stuff they simply do not want to do. That said, and a key to their own powerfully lived lives is that they do these things anyway. Most times they do them as quickly as they can.

One great lesson I have learned over and over again goes like this: those that lead successful lives do all the things no one wants to do so that they can spend much of their life doing all the things they truly want to do..
