"Judging a person does not define who they are... it defines who you are."
We recently changed our company name to "Access Performance", to reflect my belief that most leaders have inside of themselves all they need to perform at a high level.
It is often not a question of finding external solutions as much as it is gaining access to the tools we already possess. When we are not getting the outcomes we are looking for, we often attribute this to what others have done (or are not doing) that led to the unfortunate result. The most successful method that I have seen, and one that I teach, is the personal development solution.
When we work hard to develop ourselves, lead by example, admit our own mistakes, ask for feedback, and stretch ourselves, it is amazing what this does for those around us. Deep down we all want to use our "gifts", make a difference, and feel the love and respect of family, friends, and peers. When we recognize that we have blind spots, come to understand that the more "we know" the less we can learn, and that the key to all breakthroughs reside within ourselves, we begin to see the growth in ourselves, in our business, and in our relationships.
I have leaned that I can improve "we" only if I improve "me"...
