Access Point <Unwrapping The Gift>
“The journey to living an authentic life is like slowly unwrapping a beautiful gift. It entails learning how to give ourselves the unconditional love and approval we seek from others.”
- James K. McPartland
Our world is a reflection of how we think, what we focus on, and what we believe. Our daily process is often similar to looking at the people in our life and attempting to read the scorecard they are holding for us, as if they were Olympic judges rating our activities and performance. What if we decided to put ourselves at the scoring table and deliberately observe our own performance? And what if, as part of our scoring system, we could only look for and tabulate what we did well? If we did this daily, over time we would see more and more of all the good within us. Further, we could give ourselves permission to “practice” more diligently to increase the likelihood that what was good could become great. This exercise equips us to take our power back from the “other judges” and allows for the only true measure of being the best version of ourselves - progress.
