We all want to know we are loved, measure up, and are making a difference. We all seemingly have a flashing light on our forehead saying, "please validate me".
Authenticity requires the courage to be true to ourselves first, allowing us to be honest with others. The effort needed to sustain a false identity - who we want people to think we are - is an enormous drain on the finite resource of our own personal energy.
When we're being who we truly are, that priceless energy can go toward living by our highest values in pursuit of our purpose.
If somebody admires your false identity, then they do not really admire you. Sooner or later we're faced with the decision to either keep up the charade or courageously be who we were designed to be.
The truth really does set you free, and it puts you on course to realize your full potential. And to be affirmed for that is the ultimate victory.
